ABOUT THE AREA

The Village of East Dundee is a picturesque community located along the eastern banks of the Fox River in northeast Kane County. Its charming downtown district is home to the historic Anvil Club, a private dining club since the mid-fifties. A recently renovated Visitor’s Center depicts a passenger depot from the turn of the century. Just down the street one can see a replica of the original Lincoln House in Springfield, IL. It is traversed by the Fox River bicycle path, a major pedestrian/bicycle artery that offers enthusiasts an opportunity to see the Fox Valley in its natural setting along the river.

East Dundee shares the area’s beauty and cultural heritage with West Dundee. Combined, the area offers residents a variety of dining, shopping and entertainment opportunities. Showcased through its architecture, West Dundee is home to many historic churches and Victorian homes. Spring Hill Mall serves as a regional destination with several national chain department stores. During the warmer months, the downtown district is active with weekend markets, events and activities. One can take in the latest musical entertainment and pub fare at one of the local breweries or restaurants. Readily accessible by Illinois Routes 72, 68, and 25 and only minutes away from Interstate 90 and O’Hare International Airport, come experience the Dundee area during its annual Heritage Fest and Dickens in Dundee.
